About
The Restive Search Series marries the Irrational Human Mind with the Randomness of the Autofill. Except the autofill is not random – it results from algorithms generating popular results. It gives the most likely search term based on popularity of previous searches. These are filtered to remove inappropriate suggestions and are subject to constant change. An algorithm is a problem solver in itself, but the questions asked here rarely pose problems which can be solved by the poor search engine. It doesn’t stop people trying. Google is modern man’s Oracle: Not inspired by the gods, but a portal to Big Data driven by all of us.
I hope to uncover some truth by investigating our restless restive search – not for things, but for answers.
